a poem from the Book Project, 2017, now entitled RESIST, OVERTHROW & COMPASSION

Will the Mother Church, will the State, will the People, bend or stand tall?

These are the times to act, resist, and risk. Homes, basements, church naves, class rooms, community centers are places of safety from the state organized violence being acted out before our eyes.

Will the Mother church, the State, the People, bend or stand tall for justice?

Will we be the Confessional Practicing spiritual community Luther, Mandela, Dr.  King and woman and men of all times have called for, or will we settle into a Third Reich, or the careful community of early civil rights days here in the good old days in the USA and in Germany of the thirties? A time when many leaders said, don't move so fast, one heart at a time stuff. How about the Sermon on the Mount, the letter from Birmingham Jail, the teaching of the Buddha and the words of justice of the prophets and the Quran instead?

Will the Mother church and other spiritual communities, the violent State, the People, bend or stand tall for justice?

Yes, offerings will fall, jobs lost, threats will be made and carried out. Excuses will be created but the question is the same. Will we stand tall and strong for human justice not state controlled violence against human beings of all cultures, spiritual practices? Or will we bend to make a way to allow this neofascist actions by the state to continue?

Will the Mother Church and all Spiritual communities, State Violence, the People, bend or stand and act for justice, peace and compassion for all human beings?

No, the question really is, regardless what stance Mother Church takes or any group or individual, will you and I resist at every level in step with sisters and brothers of all nations to bring this fascism to an end?

It does not matter finally how the question is answered by someone else or another group, but how you and I answer. Answer not only by words, but by organizing resistance, risk taking on behalf of, and spiritual practice that embraces all.

How what? Gather, hear everyone out, organize, act and be wise.
We have our emails, but soon they will be compromised.
Let’s find a way. I am ready. Time is of the essence. Justice cannot wait

Peace!
